A little update from La Chocolatrice

Well…what a month March is turning out to be! At La Chocolatrice it has been fairly exciting! As a new business I am making changes and improving as I go, and in my opinion the shop is getting better and better! I’ve had more shelves added and there’s lots more chocolate on them. I have separated the kitchen from the shop with a lovely glass screen and I’ve installed my fabulous chocolate machine which means that I can dramatically expand my range of chocolate in store, and you can even order your own dream bars to be made, choosing the flavours and chocolate yourself. If you prefer to shop online, I also now have an online shop. A small range of my chocolate is available to buy online and this will be updated each month with new flavours for you to taste.

Tomorrow, it will be exactly four months since I opened the doors of La Chocolatrice to the public, and what a rollercoaster it has been. Anyone who runs, or has run their own business, will know that it is challenging. Every day I face new challenges but it is all made worth it as I am doing a job that I love and as a result I meet lovely people every day.

Perhaps the most difficult challenge that I have faced since opening is Covid-19. I am following all government and NHS recommendations, and trying my best to continue as usual. Health and hygiene are a huge focus of my chocolate making workshops. Each workshop starts with a thorough hand wash and anyone who has done a workshop will know that it doesn’t stop there! During a workshop you will wash your hands, on average, about seven times. The workshop is cleaned thoroughly before, between and after workshops and I am checking my symptoms daily to make sure that I am fine – and I am!

This blog post is really just a quick thank you to everyone who has supported me so far and a plea from me that in the coming months we all continue to support small businesses as it really does mean so much to those who run them.
